I dont really think I can honestly comment on this video without hearing the artist's P.O.V. I'm a bit confused on what the main concept of the piece is. There are some clips of fist fighting which is a constant in the video short but then it jumps to sword fighting and then to a horse falling off of a cliff, and to top it all off the piece is set to techno/trance music. I'm just struggling to find a correlation or a general direction that the video is moving in. I do however think that there is some clever editing points timed very nicely with the beat of the music.
i like that the pace of the music matches the pace of the film. I think your editing of clips was really well done. There was an interesting part with a guy on a horse and it looks like the horse just pops out of nowhere. i thought edits like that were interesting and clever. I also didnt know what your concept was exactly, and since you kind of got cut off at crit i can't remember what you had said.
Really smooth editing, Adam. I mean, you seem to be pretty seasoned at it, but anywho... I think as far as the assignment was concerned, you could have taken the video clips way more out of context. It still seems obvious where they might have come from; I think what I'm getting at is that your creative input isn't visible enough.
